Your log belongs on your device.

The short version

DriveClear does not require an account and does not include advertising or analytics. Driving-log records are stored in the app’s local database. The app uses one optional coarse location reading to calculate day and night time. When automatic weather is available, it sends a rounded coordinate through the DriveClear weather service to Apple Weather for the current condition. You choose where exported files and backups go.

Information stored on your device

Depending on what you enter and use, DriveClear stores:

• the driver’s name, permit state, optional permit number, hour targets, and selected alternate requirement;
• supervisor names, relationships, and optional driver-license number and state;
• drive start and end times, day and night minutes, total duration, road type, weather, route notes, the coordinates used for the solar calculation, and whether the split was overridden;
• an active drive’s timing and pause information so it can be recovered after interruption; and
• a certification signer’s name, signing time, certification text, and typed or drawn signature.

This information is used to operate the log, calculate progress, restore an interrupted drive, and create exports. DriveClear does not run an account service that receives this driving-log database.

Location and Apple Weather

When a live drive begins, DriveClear may request approximate foreground location. The app uses that reading on the device to calculate local sunrise and sunset and stores the coordinates used with the drive so the day/night split can be reproduced. DriveClear does not request continuous location updates and does not create a route history.

If location is unavailable, the app can use a prior in-memory location or the center of the selected state for the solar calculation. You can review or override a drive’s day/night split.

When automatic weather is configured, the app rounds the current coordinate to two decimal places and sends it to the DriveClear weather service once at drive start. The Weather Data settings test also sends a current rounded coordinate when you activate it, but does not add the result to the driving log. The service forwards the rounded coordinate to Apple Weather to request only the current condition, then returns the condition, observation time, and Apple attribution information.

The weather request does not include the driver or supervisor name, permit or license number, route notes, signature, or driving-log history. Cloudflare processes the network request and its source IP as part of delivering and rate-limiting the service. The service uses the connection’s IP address to limit excessive requests. We do not save weather-request coordinates to a database or enable application logs. Cloudflare maintains rate-limit counters; its documentation does not specify the exact retention time for the IP-based keys. Exports, backups, and device services

When you create a PDF, CSV, or JSON backup, DriveClear writes a temporary export and opens the system share sheet. You select the destination, such as Files, a cloud-storage provider, email, or a printer. That destination processes the file under its own privacy practices.

A JSON backup can contain the driver, supervisors, and full drive history. CSV and signed PDF exports can also contain personal driving-log details. Store and share these files carefully. Restoring a backup replaces the current DriveClear data on that device.

Your operating system or device-backup service may include DriveClear app data according to your device and backup settings. Removing the app may not remove copies you previously exported or copies retained by a device or cloud backup provider.

Support and website data

If you email support, Velorank LLC receives the address and information you choose to include. Support correspondence is used to respond, troubleshoot, protect the service, and keep appropriate business records. Please do not send permit numbers, license numbers, signatures, or backup files unless they are specifically needed to resolve your request.

These support and privacy pages use no forms, cookies, advertising, analytics, client-side scripts, or external page assets. Cloudflare still processes ordinary connection information needed to deliver the pages and protect the service. Application and invocation logging are disabled for this Worker.

Retention and your choices

Driving-log data remains in DriveClear until you edit or delete records, restore another backup, or remove app data from the device. Copies saved through exports, operating-system backups, or third-party destinations follow the retention controls of those services.

You can deny or later disable approximate-location access in device settings. Logging still works, using another available location fallback for its solar calculation, and weather can be entered manually. You can contact Velorank LLC to ask about support correspondence or exercise privacy rights that may apply where you live. Some information may be retained when reasonably needed for security, legal, or operational records.

Teens and families

DriveClear is intended for permit-age teens and their parents, guardians, and driving supervisors. It is not directed to children under 13. A parent or guardian who believes a child provided personal information through a support email can contact us so the request can be reviewed.

Security and policy changes

DriveClear limits the information sent to its weather service and uses transport encryption for those requests. No storage or transmission method can eliminate every risk, so keep devices and exported files protected.

This policy may change as DriveClear changes. A revised policy will show a new effective date on this page.
